When Common and Pharrell got together to create “Announcement,” it fused the ultra-tempo beats of Skateboard P and Chi-towns lyrical lessons. This is actually a version of the video that was set aside, originally directed by Hype Williams. The alternate video illustrates black and white close-ups of the two doing what they do best. Enjoy.

KAWS “PAY THE DEBT TO NATURE” EXHIBITION

Popular artist KAWS will be heading another exhibition entitled “Pay the Debt to Nature” at the famous Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin in Paris. He will be re-introducing some of his twist and pop culture characters. “Pay the Debt to Nature” will be opening November 6th, 2010 until December 23rd, 2010.

So of course you could have probably figured out that Kanye’s album cover for My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy would be insane or cause some controversy. You also could have figured out that it might ignite some serious questions. Well, with the news of the album cover being banned those questions have become more and more relevant. Ye’s been bringing up this whole ordeal about the phoenix and how its significantly incorporated into his current music and artistic movements. We have our opinions about the cover. What are yours?

The General Firm, known for hooking Cool Cats and Ed Banger Records up reeeeeally nice are back with the introduction of the new CEMENT piece. The collaboration comes from Parisian artist Andre. The pendant continues Andre’s famous “Mr. A” character through a 100% sterling silver hand made in Canada. Be on the lookout in December for the release of the piece in CEMENT accounts.

The connections that segway out from pop and street culture into other forms of entertainment always seem to amaze. Whether it’s finding out Kanye West interned for a fashion label or learning that Pharrell has his own clothing label but is producing art work held with the greats like Jeff Koons and Kaws. This video by Manhattan and Skyzoo resembles the same creative. “Rusty Boxcutters” is a dope new video that was shot by 10 Deep’s Kareem Blair. Filled with chill musical vibes and a skateboarders dream, Rusty Boxcutters will put you in fast paced mind flow. Enjoy.
